Mexican Cuisine
If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

We were pleasantly surprised by this Mexican grill. It appears to be a fast food place as you order and pay upon arrival, but the service and food are superior. We both had burritos, which are huge and you eat in your hands. The flavors were very, very fresh. I could take the grilled chicken distinctly. The server was very attentive, bringing us a selection of 10-12 salsas as we didn't know which to choose. Again, they were very fresh. There were many choices for vegetarians as well as the fish, beef and chicken. We look forward to returning and trying something else.

Move over Chipotle, there's a new Amigo in town! I went to their Soft Opening last night and it was fabulous! Here's why I preferred it over the other Quick Mex Places: 1) You place your order and get a number to put at your table - they bring over your food, which meant fast lines, even during a soft opening. 2) FREE chips with every meal, unlike other establishments that charge $2/ bag. Now that's what I'm taco'ing about! 3) The most amazing organic, fresh, self-serve, and FREE salsa bar. Salsas like pineapple, pico, habenero, tomatilla, black bean, etc. 4) Additionally, a hot sauce bar, similar to Tijuana Flats 5) Staff circle the tables, ensuring correct orders, refilling drinks, and removing plates when you're finished. 6) Great Authentic Queso & Guac. 7) Frozen Margaritas & Beer - wish they also had margs on the rocks, but maybe in the future. 8) Overall I found the food delicious! We had the Nudi Burrito Bowl (yum), the Burrito Salad (great cilantro dressing on the side), Queso (smooth and 'thin'), and a steak quesadilla (average, but still tasty). Welcome, Lime Fresh Mexican!

Not especially impressed. This is my second visit to lime fresh and both times have been disappointing. The salsas are flavorless and the burritos both times have been just ok. Not worth the money they charge at all. I will continue to go to Chipotle when craving a burrito.

Had the XL Cali burrito and it was very good. The staff was friendly and they had a clean restaurant. The only thing bad I had was the chips. They were stale. Hopefully it won't be next time I go.

The food is decent but the value isn't there. Took a party of four there and after everyone commented that they were still hungry. I personally ordered the fajitas and aside from being quite pink and bloody still there just wasn't a whole lot of meat. For almost 13 dollars there really should be more meat. Sauces are great and people are friendly but for my money I will stick with Moe's and Chipotle as I never leave there hungry.

Absolute worst. 40 minutes to get a salad. Don't come here if you are on lunch break from work.

First time visit. Met with James the manager and was treated to his recommended options of the menu which where the Steak Tacos and their own Casadias. Nice staff, clean and plan to visit the Tampa sites as well.

Have eaten at Lime Fresh Mexican Grill many times since it opened and always a fabulous experience. Staff is very friendly, food very good and the salsa bar ROCKS....

This place is pretty awesome! I'm a member of a local car enthusiast group that meets here on the second Tuesday of each month, and there's an obvious reason as to why we choose to eat here each month: the food is fantastic, and the staff is great! I frequent both the steak and queso tacos, and the steak and queso burrito. Pretty much anything with queso on or in it is awesome! But the tacos are really good. They come with these fried onion strings that really explode with flavor and make the tacos something extraordinary. You've gotta try them! Plus they serve beer and frozen margaritas! Win!

This restaurant is similar to Moe's but with an adult feel to it since they offer alcohol on the menu. Tasty food with very courteous service -- just my kind of place! Bonus: Bring your fur baby and sit outside under an umbrella covered table where the wait staff will bring your fur baby a bowl of water! Recommend and I will return again, with my fur baby, of course!

I have eaten here before but this was the worst. Everything tasted like salt and the rice had obviously been sitting in the bottom of the pot for quite some time.

Best burrito ever! Love Fridays at Lime! Thanks Mary and crew! Your the best! Had the guacamole for the first time. Really delish! All this with a ring side view for what's happening at the Speedway. Great food, people and location. Who could ask for more!
(5)Dary D.
This place reminds me of a Moe's but 10x better. They have a great hot sauce selection. Your order is brought to your table . I had the avocado bacon quesadilla . It was the perfect. Staff was nice and friendly. If you are in the area please stop by and try this place out.
(4)Mandy L.
Cute little mexican place with a vibe that reminds me of Taco-Cabana. The salsa bar and hot sauce bar was a nice touch, although they should be placed together instead of halfway across the restaurant from each other. The steak tacos were amazing. I loved the queso in the taco and the fried peppers. Really good combination.

This place is just such a bad example of Mexican food. It's tasteless and gross. I can't find anything good to say about it except the salsa bar. The music, yuppie staff, and bland food cooked who knows when, all adds up to disgust. If I was Mexican, or even a Texan, I would sue or something.

I first tried Lime Fresh Mexican Grill in South Beach 5+ years ago, but the majority of the appeal was the location they were in. I recently saw they opened this new location right on the main strip in Daytona Beach (I see they also have a location in Orlando by Dr. Phillips - but who knew?) which should do really well. The new space is very nice and spacious with lots seating, with a great homemade salsa bar with all the fresh cilantro you can ask for (but, really - no limes at Lime?!). The overall concept is gourmet Taco Bell...with a Tijuana Flats style of service, but with a more simplified menu (think Moe's). The menu is fairly standard Mexican fare - although they do have a noticeable amount of menu items that include bacon. The homemade salsas are super fresh tasting, and overall the produce seems to be the best part of everything (it better - it IS in their name!). Overall, the flavors are pretty average Americanized Mexican food. Although they do have fish tacos and the beans are organic. The service was real friendly, and quickly handled the queue of weekday lunch diners who popped up right at noon. Really big space - with a patio on the backside that I didn't even notice until I was leaving. They also have quite the selection of hot sauces available for spicing things up. Three good-sized standard beef tacos will cost you $6.99, and burritos are around $7.99.

So I came in on a slow Friday night and the young lady working the register was so focused trying to read my shirt (instead of just asking what it said) that she totally botched my order. I got home and was quite upset because what I did get was contained stuff I can't eat. So I went back and said I did not want my entire order and the manager said okay but you can keep the quesadilla because you had to come all the way back. But then she only refunded me for the one portion of my check, the part that was wrong. At this time I was fed up. I just took my partial refund and went on my way. I will not return to this establishment. Their food is not good enough to warrant my continued business especially when they have poor service.
(2)Anthony M.
Food quality has always been good here. Staff has always been friendly as well. They don't nickel and dime you for things like extra sour cream, which is a bonus.
(4)Christina S.
Pet friendly outdoor area, great food, and they serve beer and wine. 2 for 1 on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday!
(5)Richard N.
Never been to one of their restaruants and was very impressed. Super clean dining area and kitchen. Very friendly staff. Good food at good prices. I looked at their website and unfortunately they have no locations near my home area:(. Definitely recommend!
(5)Mena M.
Usually good but not this location... Service was good, but food had NO flavor! I ordered their Tuesday Taco bundle, upgraded to grilled fish. I did everything I could by adding salt, pepper, and sauces. If it wasn't for my hunger and being light-headed, I would've taken it back to the counter. From now on, I'll stick with other locations...

When we walked into Lime Fresh Mexican Grill for the first time we were immediately talked through what made them different from other fast casual dining establishments. You place your order, you are given a number to take to your table, and while you wait for food you can visit the salsa bar. Yes, that is different from Moe's or Chipotle, but it is an awful lot like Tijuana Flats. There are a few differences- Tijuana Flats has a hot sauce bar, Lime has a salsa bar. Tijuana Flats has 100 locations in 5 states (91 in Florida), Lime has 25 locations in 5 states plus 1 in Washington, DC and 2 in the country of Chile. However, it is the same concept, order food and wait to have it delivered. And yes, Lime uses fresh ingredients, but so do the others- at least everyone claims to nowadays. So how does Lime measure up? The menu is typical of a Mexican grill- tacos, quesadilla, nachos and burritos. There's steak, chicken, fish and veggies. There's guacamole, rice and black beans. Anything on the menu can be made Vegetarian style with beans, guacamole, cheese and rice. We actually visited twice within about 10 days. The first visit we both ordered the three taco basket. There are four varieties of tacos on the menu- the Original, the I Wanna Tijuana Taco (more explanation later), the Steak N' Queso Taco and the Surfer Taco (fish). We tried everything but the Steak taco. Everything was ordered Vegetarian style except the Surfer Taco and they were all good. Definitely tasted fresh. We were told our baskets came with chips so we hit up the salsa bar as we waited for our food. I was terribly disappointed when our baskets came with hardly any chips. It was hardly enough to enjoy the salsa bar. Sad. The second time we went we were smart enough to order an extra side of chips. I was super excited to load up on my salsa. I really loved the pineapple salsa and the mild Verde salsa. But the smoked Asada salsa was spicy and delicious too. However, I was disappointed we paid $3 for a very small basket of chips. I had more chips on the side of quesadilla then we had in our extra order. Is there a chip shortage at Lime? Give me some chips!! Maybe I am just used to huge basket of chips served at Tijuana Flats. Chad ordered the three taco basket again with the Surfer Tacos. The menu just states it is fish, not one particular kind, just fish. I suppose they serve whatever fish they can get. It's OK, the tacos are good. It is just important to ask if you are getting Mahi Mahi or some generic white fish. I ordered the I Wanna Tijuana Taco which is a soft flour tortilla with refried beans wrapped around a corn tortilla and filled with refried beans, lettuce, cheese, sour cream and pico de gallo. I ordered it Vegetarian style so it had guacamole too. It's a nice hearty taco and very filling. I also had the Fresca Quesadilla which is filled with a choice of meat (I chose refried beans), shredded cheese, cojita cheese, sour cream and black bean corn salsa. It was OK. I did like the Cilantro Ranch dressing served on the side. The quesadilla wasn't very stuffed and they completely forgot the sour cream. Quite skimpy. We liked Lime but we didn't LOVE it. We probably wouldn't go out of our way to visit, especially with the saturation of Tijuana Flats in our area. Tijuana Flats just has a bigger selection on their menu and they don't go skimpy on anything. However, I would go back to Lime for the pineapple salsa, if I could just get a chip.

39 minutes for a burrito with only 22 customers in the place. Tijuana Flats just down the street...choose them instead.

I was quite skeptical when I pulled up at 5:45pm and the parking lot was empty, meanwhile next door Ruby Tuesday is packed. Decided to try it anyway. First impressions are not great. The vegetarian sidenote on the menu was not welcoming to me as a vegetarian (that looked like the goal). It was off-putting, as a vegetarian I have to order off menu or specialize something with meat from the menu... Now then, lets get to it, Lime has thrown it's hat into the ring with the likes of Chipotle, Moe's, and Tijuana Flats. None of those places make me special order like some kind of "special case". It's mexican-ish it shouldn't be an issue to have a couple of specific options. As for the food it was not on par with the three other tex-mex joints I mentioned above. The queso was inferior to Moe's in my opinion, the "smoked" flavoring isn't for everyone I guess, I could only get halfway through my nachos before it was simply too much. The chips were comparable to Chipotle, nice job, I like them a lot. The hot sauce bar is a nice touch, many choices, love it. The salsa bar was a bit underwhelming, 2/5 tried were near flavorless. They tasted like they were made with tomatoes that have no flavor other than water. 2 others had the same "smoked" flavor I was trying to cover up. No actually spicy salsa to be found, I guess you have to combine the salsa bar and hot sauce bar if you want flavor and heat. The drink choices seemed limited but I did enjoy the organic raspberry tea. I will also give kudos to them for having organic items in the store, I dont think they are as organic and locally sourced friendly as Chipotle but they are doing something, which is more than nothing. Also, Lime did win on price, cheaper than Moe' or Chipotle.

Great friendly service, clean place with good atmosphere ... Tasty food ... Fresh ! Will return for sure ...

As far as fast casual Tex-Mex joints, I had high expectations similar to that found at Tijuana Flats and Moe's. Unfortunately I couldn't find it that night I went on Labor Day (maybe just due to the fact it's a "national" holiday but still..) I placed my order for (3) steak hard tacos which comes with chips and a side of queso and fountain drink. Similar to Tijuana's, you'd sit down and wait for the order to be brought up to your table, but the wait was so damn long for a slow night... 10-12 minutes until the food surfaced! Unbelievable. Not to mention when I chowed down on the tacos, they tasted like the seasoning for the steak wasn't there, and the chips and queso dip were as bland as they get. Overall I'll take Moe's or Tijuana's over this sorry-of-a-Tex-Mex joint on International Speedway Blvd in Daytona Beach any day.

The food was ok the tables.,floors were dirty and it was not busy i may have caught them on an off day so i will give them another chance because i love this food They should prepare

Mexican food is one of my quick go to staples throughout the week. I love how fast the service is here without compromising good fresh ingredients. The People are always friendly. They also have a 2 for 1 during the week and a bunch of awesome hot sauces to try!

While vacationing here, we stopped by Lime twice. I believe their ordering concept is much more efficient than Chipotle's. You walk in, order your food at the register, have a seat, and then a waitress will bring your food to your table. Quick, easy, and painless, and no long line at that! The first time we tried it, the food was great and flavorful as any mexican dish should be. Although, it seemed like other customers were having trouble with their service. The second time around, we were not as impressed with the service. The waitress was very rude and gave us attitude when we asked for a side of queso which was not given to us originally as we ordered it and was clearly on the receipt. Other than the service blip, the food here is great and the salsa bar has a wide variety of choices. Get their "special sour cream," it's the best!

Really impressed by this place. Pulled in on a whim to get away from the Daytona Speedway (across the street) traffic and to feed my appetite. I first ordered the chips and queso with added bacon appetizer and as my meal I decided to get the steak & chicken fajitas. The queso came out in a plastic dish with only a handful of chips. I learned later you can ask for more chips, if you're lucky enough to have an employee cruise by. The queso appeared to be a nice yellow-orange color topped with a few tomatoes and bacon bits. I loved the added flavor the bacon gave the dish. I did not like that the bottom center of the queso dish appeared to be cold. I flagged down staff and they returned with it a little warmer. (Microwaved? Thanks?) the flavor and amount was fair. I would definitely order this again, and prefer it over the other tex-mex competitors. My fajitas came out at the same time as the queso, but obviously I was distracted. I received a skillet of green peppers, chicken, steak, and onions - with two complimentary lime wedges. The meat was cut in manageable strips. I noticed that the food seemed a little too comfortable in the skillet and became burnt in some places. In a separate metal plate/tray I receive tortillas (choice of flour, wheat, or corn) wrapped in tin foil, lettuce, cheese, tomatoes, and sour cream. The tortillas got a little "rubbery" for my liking, but served their purpose. I wasn't a fan of the plastic utensils they provided me with, especially when trying to serve food from the skillet - the fork actually melted. The fajitas were nicely seasoned, flavorful, and a nice sized serving. This could've probably been shared with someone based on the amount I ended up taking with me and eating later for dinner. I would consider ordering this again, but would probably try a taco or burrito first. If you're an ice connoisseur like myself you'll appreciate the pebble ice they have out of the soda machine. Be sure to check out the hot sauces and salsa bar. Bathrooms were clean and staff was friendly. 4/5 stars.

First time and everyone loved it! Great burritos and the queso is a must :) love the salsa bar!

Very fast, friendly and clean. Salsa bar and queso very good. Similar to Mo's and T's flats. Best salsa bar of the 3.

Food was pretty good. I loved the different selections of sauces. The place was trendy and cute. Overall good experience. I would go back again if I were in the area.

We went to Lime friday night for dinner during the truck race - we had seen that it was opening soon and I am a huge fan of Tex/Mex that I wanted to give it a try. I had the Grande Chicken Quesadilla - it included refried beans, chicken, and cheese. The quesadilla was pretty bland, but, when you have an amazing salsa and hot sauce bar, you can spice it up to however you want it. We ordered a side of rice which seemed to be overcooked - it was very gummy, but tasty all the same. My fiance ordered the steak tacos and he pulled them apart - there was a large piece of bell pepper in the bottom and it was full of onions, but, you can order everything on the menu to your liking. They have a small selection of bottled bears (Miller Light, Miller Geniune, Dos Equis, and Corona) as well as Frozen Sangria and Frozen Margaritas. The service was fast and friendly and I am planning my next visit with my girlfriends.

Instructions for newbies are at the entry. You get a menu, place your order, and find a seat! Your food will be brought to you. The cashier was upbeat & friendly and there is plenty of seating! Although the music seemed a tad bit loud, overall the atmosphere is pretty cool. I ordered a veggie bean burrito and it tasted pretty average. I made the taste of my burrito more interesting by experimenting with the different salsas. The manager stopped by to chat & thank us for coming. Ultimately, this is a cool, fun place to grab a bite. But as for flavor and tastiness, I think Chipotle wins. But guess what...I am coming back to try the Fish Tacos!!!

My husband is a long haul truck driver, and he likes to take me out for a nice dinner when he is home. I saw this place being built during the Daytona 500, and we love Mexican food, so I thought we would give it a try during his last time home. We went on a Sunday evening, so it wasn't very crowded at all. The music was obnoxiously loud, like almost nightclub loud and the music itself was awful rap music for the most part. Personally, I would have gone for something a little more thematic, like some Spanish pop music or traditional guitar. We both ordered the Classic guac, fish tacos , and lime margaritas for the both of us. The total fopr our bill for just the 2 of us was almost $40. That shocked me a little, but I didn't want to pass judgement or anything until we got the food. The margaritas were good. They're like slushies, which is nice, and the balance of flavors and alcohol was good. The guacamole was AMAZING! It was almost as much as our fish tacos ($6.50), but it was even better than Chipotle guacamole (which I never thought I would say in this lifetime). For the price, I definitely would have liked to have gotten a bit more than we did, but it was still a pretty fair amount. The manager brought us our fish tacos. He chatted with us for a minute and was very nice. Fantastic customer service! We took our tacos and went to the salsa bar. We experimented with a few of the choices...the salsa asada and the salsa suave were both really good and fresh tasting. They had an insane amount of hot sauce choices, strange ones I had never seen before and some old favorites. We sat down to eat our tacos, and as excited as I was to have good fish tacos since leaving California, I was disappointed. The fish was dry and kind of fishy tasting. They used flour tortillas, which are NOT traditional. I know they're sturdyer than corn tortillas, but there is just something about the corn totilla flavor that I really missed here. They did use cabbage instead of lettuce, which was good. Overall, I would say that the service was great, the drinks were good, the salsa bar was phenomenal, but the prices were a little high for the food quality (which was meh). My suggestions: either lower the prices a bit (which I know probably won't happen because it's a franchise or corporate owned) or up the serving sizes on the pricier stuff. I don't mean give out like two servings on one plate or anything, but maybe four tacos instead of three when it costs $7 or more? Maybe add some beans and rice on the side? Something so that people don't leave with still empty stomachs and wallets.
(2)Kawaii R.
Good mexican food. Kind of disappointed that they don't have a Cheese quesadilla available. I'm not a vegetarian but I like quesadillas without meat. Same price if you don't want the meat and beans, and just cheese. Otherwise, their baja fish taco and chips with guacamole are very good. Love that you can get all the salsa you want at the salsa bar... At chipotle, they always start charging me lol. Guess I'm a salsa oinker, I don't know :)
